In 2010 Governor John Hoeven designated Bank of North Dakota (BND) as the state agency to administer the North Dakota College Access Challenge Grant. This is a federally-funded grant program designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enroll and succeed in postsecondary education.
The North Dakota College Access Network (NDCAN) was established through the grant to provide a wide collection of resources that make college planning easier for all North Dakota citizens, with emphasis in providing outreach to students and families of underrepresented college backgrounds. NDCAN also serves as a network of college access partners throughout North Dakota who work together to assist students to enter and remain in postsecondary education.
The www.nd-can.com website has been developed to promote awareness of college opportunities and provide current college access resource information to students, parents and educational professionals.
