Bank of North Dakota Sells Original Bank Builiding

BISMARCK, ND–August 1, 2008–Bank of North Dakota (BND) is pleased to announce the sale of the original bank building on the corner of Seventh Street and East Main Avenue in Bismarck to Minot based IRET Properties for $2.22 million, effective Friday, August 1, 2008.

Included in the sale to IRET Properties is the original bank structure at 700 East Main and BND Annex at 715 East Broadway, formerly the old Red Owl facility, along with the surrounding property and parking lots.

Bank of North Dakota, the only state-owned bank in the nation, vacated the premise on January 18, 2008 after nearly 90 years of occupation. BND moved into a new facility overlooking the Missouri River at 1200 Memorial Highway in Bismarck.

“The Bank enjoyed a long and prosperous stay at the old facility with the implementation of economic programs, many historic moments and fond memories,” said Eric Hardmeyer, BND President.
